What Lilly says

Christian Astrology, Chap. LIX, p.385 (1647 ed.) — verdict: Favorable

A woman had refused a suitor's proposals for a long time, driving him away, then bitterly regretted it. Lilly traced the quesited's own virtue passing through Venus to reach the querent's significator -- a translation of light, with reception and no prohibition -- and predicted the match would be revived, naming a date to press the matter. It was: the couple reconciled and married within twenty days.

What the engine says

Querens's own verdict, computed independently from the same chart: Favorable — matches Lilly's.

How the engine reasoned

  1. The ascendant is at Leo 15.03° — the 1st-house cusp, standing for the querent.
  2. Querent is SUN (ruler of the 1st house); quesited is SATURN (ruler of house 7).
  3. SUN (querent) dignity: essential -5, accidental +11, combined +6. (CA p.115)
  4. SATURN (quesited) dignity: essential -5, accidental +21, combined +16. (CA p.115)
  5. Considerations before judgment: Ascendant is neither too early nor too late — chart is fit to judge. (CA p.121)
  6. SUN is applying to SATURN by sextile, 9.96° orb (wide within the allowed orb). (CA p.106)
  7. Applying sextile is a harmonious aspect — and nothing denies it, so favorable.
  8. Overall verdict: favorable.

Same verdict, different path

The verdict matches, but not the argument. The engine reaches favorable through a direct applying sextile between the significators themselves (Sun to Saturn); Lilly's own reasoning was a translation of light through Venus, carrying Saturn's virtue across to the Sun. Two different paths landing on the same answer, not the same technique working twice.
